About our service
How does Electrician Tucson Today work?
You call our 24/7 service desk, describe the problem, and we connect you with an independent, licensed electrician who serves your area. The electrician quotes the job, does the work and bills you directly.
Do you perform electrical work yourselves?
No. We're a referral service. The work is done by independent, licensed electrical contractors.
Can I request service online?
We take requests by phone only, 24/7, at 855-708-8693. That lets the service desk ask the right questions and route urgent calls quickly.
Do you offer same day service?
Same day service is available for many residential and commercial jobs. Emergency dispatch runs 24/7.
Do you work with businesses?
Yes. See commercial electrician services for offices, retail, warehouses and multifamily properties.
Licensing and permits
Are the electricians licensed?
Yes. We refer you to contractors licensed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Arizona requires any business that contracts to build, alter or repair a property to be licensed.
How do I check a contractor's license?
Ask for the ROC license number and search the ROC by license class to confirm the license is in good standing and covers electrical work.
What protection do I get from hiring a licensed contractor?
For homes you live in, the ROC Recovery Fund can pay up to $30,000 per residence for poor or unfinished work by a licensed residential contractor.
Do I need a permit for electrical work in Tucson?
Often. The City of Tucson lists service increases and panel replacement or repair among work that needs a permit. Your electrician confirms the requirement for your address.
Can a homeowner do their own electrical work in Arizona?
Only within narrow limits. The owner builder exemption requires the home to be for your own occupancy and not for sale or rent within a year, and the handyman exemption excludes work that needs a permit.
Costs and quotes
How much does an electrician cost in Tucson?
It depends on the job, parts, permits and urgency. The electrician quotes after seeing the problem. Read our cost guide for what affects the price.
Do emergency calls cost more?
Usually. Visits at night, on weekends or on holidays typically cost more than a booked daytime appointment.
Who do I pay?
You pay the electrician who does the work, at the price you agree with them.
Emergencies and outages
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Burning smells, sparks, scorch marks, shocks, water near wiring or loss of power to part of your home. See emergency electrician. If there is smoke or fire, call 911 first.
My power is out. Who do I call?
If the whole street is out, contact your utility. Tucson Electric Power takes outage reports online or at 520-623-7711. If only your home is out, call us for power outage troubleshooting.
How can I protect my home during monsoon season?
The National Weather Service defines monsoon season as June 15 to September 30. Whole house surge protection and a generator with a transfer switch help with surges and outages.
